Native Palmer's Penstemon (Penstemon palmeri)

$4.00

Palmer's Penstemon (Penstemon palmeri) is a native heirloom perennial penstemon with fragrant light pink flowers (one of the only penstemons that's fragrant). It has oblong grayish green leaves and flower spikes grow to about 4-5 ft tall. As the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center says, the palmer's penstemon "is one of the most delightful species of Penstemon, its cheery puffed-up flowers exquisitely fragrant."

A desert native, it thrives in drought and poor soil. Pollinators like butterflies and hummingbirds love it! Direct sow outdoors in late Fall / early Winter by pressing seeds into the surface of the soil. Seeds need cold stratification and light to germinate. Minimum 1/4 tsp of seeds included.
